Strays of Rio is a thriller set in Rio de Janeiro where the boundaries of good and evil clash in a world of police corruption, death squads and drug trafficking. Lisa Kerry fights a group of upper-class men killing for nothing more than sports. To save a gang of street kids and reconcile her own past of abuse in a juvenile detention center, she accepts the help of a drug lord representing everything she hates. When Lisa realizes she is teaching her young charges to continue the cycle of violence, she lays down her weapons, unaware she has stirred the appetite of a more dangerous foe, now preying on her.
Feel like escaping to Rio with me? Read the prologue and first chapter (not yet edited by publisher). If you want more, Strays of Rio will be released by MuseItUp Publishing in September 2012.
Crumple Zone:
Lara, a young Seattelite workaholic, loses her job, drowns her anger in alcohol and books a trip to Chile. As a woman traveling alone in an unknown country, Lara feels self-conscious and vulnerable. She hooks up with Rick, an Australian backpacker, whose erotic games challenge her need for control.
At the same time, trucker Enrique, a tragic Chilean Don Quixote, faces the loneliness of the desert by imagining his wife accompanying him on the journey. When he crashes his rig into Lara’s rented SUV, the collision throws them both off their errant tracks to face love, life and loss.
Genre: Rapunzel Plan is an action adventure with a pinch of road-movie, a twisted love story and a straight one, a homeopathic dosage of cute children and lots of girl power–not always put to the best use. Not to mention the psychopath hero who isn’t really an Apache.
Book blurb: El Schenkenberg, tough manager of her own company, sets out on a team-building adventure trek organized by Martin Sander, a jerk who loves to play master and commander of arrogant city slickers. Little does he know…
Premise: Sometimes people need to be hit over the head twice to have some sense knocked into them. In rare cases, that’s still not enough.
Want to follow me on a breathtaking hike through the Austrian Alps? Read Chapter One.
Cinderella Conspiracy:
In the sequel to Rapunzel Plan, Martin and El’s paths cross again during a stormy January night. Could the tour guide from hell really be the solution to her problems? If you’re curious, read Chapter One.
